I was thinking it was time to add a new blog post but having trouble coming up with what to write about. Thinking that we love teeth it should be about teeth - obviously. But honestly, sometimes I can't think of what to write about teeth that would interest everyone else as much as it interests me. Then it struck me like a bolt of lightening. Okay, not really - I was looking at a magazine from our reception area. On the cover of the current Taste of Home magazine is a great big, delicious looking hamburger and I knew what I could blog about. EATING!
It makes perfect sense. You see its very hard to eat all of your favorite foods without.....TEETH! (Or at least some sort of replacement for them.) Nothing replaces your own teeth. Our teeth are even designed for specifics functions during eating. Do you have an opening between your front teeth? If you do, I bet its hard to bite into a sandwich or a piece of pizza. Missing molars? I bet you have a hard time chewing things like bagels and steak!
So if you like to eat like I do, then you need to take care of your teeth. And if you are having trouble eating, please call us at Twin Oaks Dental - we want to help. Especially with advances in implant dentistry and so many more options available, we can almost always find a solution that improves your quality of life at an investment level that is comfortable for you.
Your teeth really do contribute to your quality of life and you deserve the best.
I love my job. I love it for a lot of reasons, but one of the best things about my job is getting to meet so many amazing people. People of all professions and backgrounds walk through our doors - and we welcome them and are better for meeting them.
Recently, I had the priveledge of seeing Dawn. Dawn's life has been crazy lately, adding a new baby to the family, yet she's found the time to write an e-book about something she really loves. "A Lawn Chair Gardener's Guide to a Balanced Life and a More Balanced World" is available on Amazon and its wonderful. She told me about the book a week ago and I bought it that night. Now, I'm about the furthest thing from a gardener. I love a beautiful yard with flowers that bloom at different times and are easy to maintain. Dawn's book gives me the tools I need pursue this further, and with an earth-friendly perspective. Things that would have never crossed my mind when planning a new planting bed or garded. Leaf lettuce as an edger - GENIUS!!!
You can learn more about Dawn in the recent Star Tribune article she was in as well. So fun to open the paper and see one of your patients on the front page of a section. I feel a bit like a proud parent!
People are so amazing and we love taking the time to get to know our "people" better. Its like unlocking secret doors into their worlds. And when doors are unlocked, its amazing what you can find behind them!
We have tickets to some Twins baseball games this year! We'll be doing some fun contests to give them away. Check back often for how you can win tickets. Our next set of tickets is for Memorial Day. What a way to celebrate the holiday - hot dogs, popcorn and sunshine! We'll be giving away this set of tickets to one of our fans on Facebook. Like us on Facebook if you haven't already. Not only will you be entered into the drawing for this set of Twins tickets, but you will also be kept up to date with other fun news and events going on with our team here at Twin Oaks Dental.
So its TAX DAY! Either you love it or hate it depending on which way the check is going in the mail. Now, I'd venture to say that going to the dentist ranks right up there with paying taxes for most people (or maybe its more accurate to say that it ranks right down there as a low point). We want to try and brighten your day so we'll be giving away a Tax Day Freebie here. Just ask Diane for your choice of freebies. In fact, we really want to brighten people's day today so if you have friends or family that would like one all they need to do it stop in before 4pm and say they are here for their freebie. Check out some other great freebies I found on ABC News.
